Because, if it gets contact on a porous canvas it will dry out faster and there is a possibility that the colors will fade. Some canvas that will work with it are wood, any type of glass, and a non-porous paper like a yupo paper.
In terms of what colors will you be able to use, that will depend on you. Try to experiment different combinations of colors. Combine at least two types of color, black and white not included. Different color hues would look great as well.
To create another look, using a palette knife to spread around the inks would be a good idea. Or you can just simply, drop a blob of ink to the canvas to create a bubble effect. The good thing with this product is you will be able to create different kinds of pattern using the different kinds of tools.
To be able to create waves, use a stick or a pencil. Put some ink on the brush then position it above the canvas. Tap the brush to the stick so that speckle of inks will fall to the canvas. This technique can be incorporated in creating a sparkle of stars effect. Create paintings that would describe your personality.
To remove excess inks, damping a wet tissue will solve the problem. And, if you want to dry it out faster, a blow dry is the solution. Everyone is an artist, you cannot say that you are not.
