The Benefits Of Architectural Visualization

By Karen Bell

Professionals who work in this fields where designs have to be made understand the importance of sketching. This is usually a rough representation of the final result. While some will do it manually, others will use a computer to produce a three-dimensional sample. The following are some of the reasons why builders would choose architectural visualization over hand drawing of sketches.

Clients can easily understand what is in the presentation better than if they had drawings. This is because the pictures look so real hence it gives one the reality of what to expect. Since the client is not familiar with the construction field, he may not understand the outcome if it was presented in a drawing or a sketch. With this method, he can see the building in all dimensions.

The various stakeholders need to communicate on how to go about the project. Not all of them are situated in the same location, and it will be tough to distribute drawings to each one of them. Communication will not be secure too with handouts. Use of this method enhances the communication as they can use emails to send and receive the project. Excellent communication between stakeholders enhances smooth execution of the project.

This is an excellent way to market yourself as an expert. The presentations done in this manner are appealing, and they are likely to catch the attention of potential clients faster than any other method. They can also be spread to many people in different locations compared to drawings that will only reach the locals. This way you are likely to sign more contracts.

For one to come up with this presentation, he only needs to download an application. This application will be used for all the future projects unless any updates are required. This is cheap as you only incur the cost once. Making a sketch and asking an artist to draw it for you will, on the other hand, cost a lot of money.

When using a computer, all the expert needs to do is critical in what he wants and the machine makes a presentation of it immediately. This is not the case with hand drawing. The person has to try to make it look as perfect as possible, and he has to keep on correcting the mistakes he does while drawing. A lot of time will hence be wasted by the one who draws manually.

It is important that the client is given a chance to make suggestions before the project can be executed. When these suggestions are considered, he should be given an idea of the results for him to decide if they are pleased with it. It is okay for the client to dislike the presentation as it can be rectified rather than giving him undesirable results altogether.

Some mistakes cannot be seen on a mere sketch. After making a computerized presentation, the expert might discover that some features have to be corrected as they may have some adverse effects. For instance, the building might hide a famous landmark, and it will be miserable if this is discovered when the building has already been constructed since no changes can be made at this point.
