An impersonator is the title given to a person who imitates or copies the behaviors or actions of another individual, usually one who is famous. There are numerous reasons why a person may choose to do this, one being entertainment. Elvis Presley was an American musician, singer and actor. Although he passed away in 1977, there are many people who perform as an Elvis impersonator.

Presley, also called just Elvis, is a major cultural icon from the twentieth century. He is often called the King of Rock and Roll or just the King. Born in Mississippi, Presley began his career in music when he teamed up with Sam Phillips from Sun Records.

Elvis received much commercial success in multiple genres. He is considered a top-selling solo act in all the history of recorded music. Presley is listed in numerous music hall of fame lists, earned the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award at 36 years old, and has sold an estimated 600 million records worldwide. It is no surprise that many people choose to impersonate this legend.

Cover acts and impersonators are not the same. Usually cover acts are musicians who only perform the music of the artist. On the other hand, impersonators tend to do far more, taking on their physical appearance and behaviors, in addition to performing their work.

There is a lot that goes into being an impersonator. In fact, the best spend effort and time studying behaviors and actions they are trying to replicate. Most people who have found success have done so because they are good at what they do and have found their niche. These people are usually located in the area of the largest entertainment hubs around the world, including Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New York City in the United States of America.

The more like the famous person that the impersonator is, the better they are considered. They should know the work of an artist, as well as behaviors and quirks. It is important to be authentic. Not all take this job as seriously, as some see it as a hobby and not a career. Others have managed to make it a full-time career. Impersonators may copy dead or alive famous people. Michael Jackson is another popular option.

Impersonators must study the music, behaviors and style of Presley in order to be believable to their audience. People who give money to impersonators or pay to see them live often do so for fun. In cases where the artists is deceased, it may be an opportunity for fans to reminisce or kind of fulfill a dream to see the person live. It is an experience that many people are willing to pay for, which is why the business can be lucrative.

An Elvis impersonator is one who copies or imitates the actions and behaviors of Elvis Presley. Some people do this job for entertainment and fun, while others have managed to make a career of it. Presley is largely considered one of the most popular musicians of the twentieth century.
