A label is basically a piece of metal, paper, polymer or other material that is affixed to some container or product and its written or even printed some information concerning a certain product. Information that is printed directly on container or even article can be regarded as labeling. Labels have many or numerous uses such as giving essential information on products origin, shelf life, manufacture date, use and other instruction as required by some legislation. Printed labels basically have many uses.

Labels may be put to different forms of usage. They can be used basically for identification, give instructions, warning, information environmental advice or even advertising. These labels may be in form of stickers, temporary or permanent stickers or even printed packaging. Permanent product identification using a sticker is more familiar and easy, this is so because stickers needs to actually remain secure throughout the product life.

Permanent identification of stickers is very common this is because stickers are very easy to produce and maintain. Some stickers are removable while others are completely permanent. The stickers require to remain attached to the product or container until the product useful life comes to an end. Packaging may in many cases have their labeling affixed to or integral to certain package.

Printed stickers may in some case be used to warn people about the dangers of a certain product. These dangers may include explosive products, flammable and so on. In industrial or some military environment, there is asset labeling used to simply clearly identify an asset that is those assets meant for maintenance or assets meant for operational purposes.

Such stickers are often made of some engraved traffolyte or materials of similar nature. They are basically tamper-evident, frangible or permanent and generally contain barcode used to identify them electronically through the use of barcode readers. The following are common application of labels. They can be used as agricultural stickers, archival, asset, badge, bag, barcode stickers and also beverage stickers.

There are numerous forms of labels simply used for different purpose in everyday life. The main goal or aim of a label is simply to clearly identify a product, differentiate a commodity from the rest of other commodities, categorize, and lastly to avail more information concerning the commodity. Different stickers have their different characteristics or features because of different materials used to generate them.

There are basically two known types of thermal sticker that is the direct stickers and thermal transfer stickers. Both have variety of uses. But the most common use is actually creating bar codes. The reason being bar codes usually requires long lifetime and these stickers are basically very permanent. The direct sticker is made using simple procedures. The images and words are printed on stickers.

This printing of images and words on stickers is done with help of heating element shaped exactly like the images or even the words intended to be printed. For barcode printing, they will call for printing of those codes exactly as they are. Here thermal labels will really help.
