Painting is an art that has been around for centuries now. People had their portraits painted back before photography came into play. It is usually done for fun or even as a way to earn a living. Most people do it as a leisure activity. It can be done in the form of a painting competition. This way, the participants are able to work on their skills and ideas in order to harness the best result.

The art of painting has been embraced by people of different ages. For children, it has many advantages. For example, it keeps them occupied, and they do not have time to be destructive. The painting actually helps in brain development. The right side is used in sensation and imaginative reaction while the left is for logical methods and lucidity.

Another advantage to the kids is that it is a form of therapy. Most kids tend to spend most of their time watching television or playing games on their phones.
