By Cornelia Reyes

There are many movies that are coming out each week but there are some movies that are sure to fall under ones list of favorite movies. The Cross is one such movie that is sure to be a must watch for eras. The gripping storyline and visuals are bound to make you want to watch the movie again and again. At the same time it is bound to bring a tear to your eye. The documentary is a short film that every person today, irrespective of religious belief, should watch. Finding The Cross DVD can be a little difficult since it is a documentary and not a typical commercial film.

Many people refused to watch this movie since there were no big names involved in the movie. What one must understand is that this is a documentary and not a commercial film which one must see because of famous actors. The protagonist of the movie is an ordinary man, who is in no way what people might term a movie star. But the movie is more realistic when it comes to acting since the movie chronicles the protagonists journey. There is no fakeness or Acting involved in the movie. Everything about the movie is real. So, it is highly gripping.

Matthew Crouch, who had previously produced movies like One Night with the King and The Omega Code, is responsible for the direction of this gripping documentary. Matthew Crouch was known for his hand in production before he made his directorial debut. It was quite a brave choice for a directorial debut.

As far as documentaries are concern, this one has a decent runtime. Most documentaries can be short enough to be produced as short films or long enough to be shown in installments. The 90 minute run time of the movie ensures that the audience is not bored by the movie in any way. All to often movies run into a long boring dribble that people do not want to see.

If you are tired of watching hyped commercial films with unrealistic storylines then this is the movie for you. The movie is definitely a true story. The way in which Crouch captures the story also makes it more realistic and gripping.

Take a look at the protagonist of the movie. The protagonist is an ordinary man who found a mission in life. Arthur Blessitt found a reason for his existence in carrying a twelve foot wooden crucifix around the world.

There was the initial question of religious connotations. But the point of the movies is far from religious. The theme of the movie is spiritual instead of religious. Carrying the crucifix gave Arthur Blessitt a purpose in life but unlike religious enthusiasts his purpose was not to spread a religious message. The message he spread was entirely spiritual.

Arthur Blessitt created a place for himself if the Guinness Book of World Record for having carried the crucifix for forty years and across 38,102 miles. This showed his dedication to his cause and purpose. This is what makes The Cross DVD a must have when it comes to having a film collection.
