Head Coverings For Hair Loss As Well As General Use

By Lelia Hall

People suffering from medical conditions like alopecia, cancer, and chemotherapy are likely to lose hair from their heads. Therefore, investing in some good head gear is a good idea. Over time, changes are done in the head cover styles that patients were allowed to wear initially. Cancer turbans are slowly being replaced with other forms of gear over time. Some of the types of form of head coverings for hair loss include wigs, caps, hats, turbans, and scarves among other designs.

Loose hair is known for contaminating food and work stations. That is the reason hairnets and snoods were invented to ensure that hair is maintained at the back of the head when one is working. Natural and synthetic wigs are worn by people as a costume, but they are mostly worn by people to hide baldness and thin. In some circumstances, wigs serve to symbolize office, rank, or authority like in the cases of barristers, parliamentary speakers, and judges.

Sun-venturing individuals should invest in sun protected summer hats for protection. The products are available with sweat bands adjustable for proper fitting. They are available in modern styles and the interiors are extremely soft. Winter hats and turbans provide the same level of comfort although the hats incorporate unique features such as wool, which in most cases, is water proof.

It is hard to find scarves tailored specifically for patients with hair loss condition. Scarves recommended for the sick should be made of ultra-fine pure cotton material to prevent heat buildup. The other advantage they have over polyester or silk scarves is that they do not slip easy on bald heads. The scarves can be bought pre-tied or buyers may go for those that are not tied already.

Head dresses are worn for both official and casual reasons. A cover could, in fact give an insight of the values, concepts, or the occasion a person is headed for judging by their choice of head wear. The designs of hats usually differ as they are meant to be worn in different situations such as at funerals, weddings, or prayers. Head covers depict fashion and can give people distinguished appearances.

Helmets are meant to protect the neck and skull against injuries. They protect against punches and contact when used in sports like boxing and American football. Helmets are common among skaters, cyclists, motorcyclists, and construction site workers. The law on helmets is very clear in most countries and categorizes each type for a specific function. Most helmets are rigid.

Orthodontic hats are applied in correcting anteroposterior discrepancies, control mandibular and maxillary bones from overgrowing. Short upper jaws may be encouraged to grow frontward through continued wearing of orthodontic covers. They are manufactured with fitting straps, elastics, cap, and face bow. Treatment headdresses must be set by medical practitioners and not just anyone.

Removing headdresses sends varied messages. Distinct directives exist in the military governing the wearing of hats. In the military, removing a hat implies salutation. Tilting forward, raising, touching, or briefly removing the hat are among the ways of salutation. Many country statutes require citizens to show respect by removing their hats when the national anthem is playing.
