Expedition Of Italian Luxury Fashion

Italian luxury fashion started becoming fashionable in the 11th century as major cities started producing textile, fabrics, jewelry, robes and shoes. Its industry flourished to its peak alongside art, music, education and philosophy. Around the 16th century designs were influenced by art of its time by Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci. It was popularized by the medic's, the Italian gala started losing luster as French industry rose in popularity with their corture dresses and dominated until Italy retook its glory in the 1950s concentrating on ready to wear clothes. This was initiated by Giovanni Battista Giorgini.

Pizza, great wine, gelato, opera, models and the expensive, stylish to die for brands are the main things that come to mind when you think Italy. It is the leading in what is known as the big five; Italy, france, britain and Japan. It is now more focused on ready to wear which are relatively affordable and stylish for shoppers.

From the recent to the old gala houses of Italy, there is a striking presence of emphasis on quality and elegance. Gucci, ferragano, Fendi, Trussadi, Vercase, Valentine, Dolce and Gabbana, Emilio pucci and Prada are the few among the few popular fashion houses in Italy. This is considered a family business and gala shows are used to popularize their new trends.

Among the four main capitals Milan is the leading. Milan's main upscale gala district is the quadtilaterodella moda, falleria vittorio emanele and piazz del duomo are also important. Florence hold the headquarters for Gucci, Robert cavallis and Emilio pucci. Its main upscale street is Via de' Tourabuoni. Via del Parione and Via Roma is also known for its high end fashion store. Rome houses headquarters of Valentino, Bulgaria, Fendi and Brioni not forgetting Prada, Chanel, Vercase and Dolce and Gabbana along the prestigious Via dei condotti.

The Milan gala week held twice a year- spring/summer and autumn/winter. It is an apparel trade show where the upcoming trades are showcased and promoted. This ensure the designs continue to be relevant in the rapidly growing industry.

As economic recession hit Italy hard. The gala houses have risen to the occasion and given back to its country. Fendi has donated to, it is the restoration of the Trevi fountain and it foundation includes exhibition of rare images of the fountain as a way of paying tribute to Rome. Prada has started a multi-year restoration project to turn Venice waterfront palazzo and ornately ca' corner della regime into exhibition spaces. Trussardie has embarked on enliving Milan's public spaces by works of art all this to promote tourism and lend a helping hand to their government.

Be it the stylish ferragamo shoes, the different chic leather goods by Bottega Veneta, lovely and delicate fragrance by dolce and Gabbana, sassy eyewear by miu miu. They drip with flawlessness, elegance and sense of style. It is for a status now.

Italian luxury fashion hub seems to be the national preoccupation. Their presence if felt in various fashion markets due to its worldwide apparel appeal. They quench the thirst for accessible, comfortable and yet equally refined and tailored apparel . They set the trends with refreshing innovative pieces that always leave us waiting.
