In many Indian communities, one of the things you may commonly notice is turban tying. This is the act of wrapping a headdress and unstitched cloth around the head. Most of them are normally around 5meters long. Thus, the user unwraps and ties it around the head several times. These cloths are made from cotton materials. They are thus common in many communities especially the Hindus, Sikhs, and Muslims. They are thus a symbol that defines many men in these communities.

While tracing it in traditional societies, this piece of cloth was initially designed to protect people from the effects of the scorching sun on their heads. However, as time went by, the society began to appreciate that this cloth could serve many more unique purposes than they initially thought. This means that both women and men embraced it for more different reasons.

This cloth in present day society comes in various colors, sizes, and shapes. Mainly, this largely depends on the needs of the user. Thus, the cloth may be customized to suit the unique and personal needs of the wearer. Either way, the main purpose of the cloth will be to help the man uphold the dignity they are assigned in the society. While in these communities they are more common with men, women too are nowadays using them as hats.

With the various diversities in these cloths, it is good to acknowledge that they are also tied differently. Mainly, this will depend on a variety of factors. The main one is the type of material used to make the cloth. Some of them may create a firm design while others keep slipping making it hard to maintain a good look. To others, the size of the cloth will also determine how it is tied.

There is no dispute that this cloth plays an important role in these societies. They have indeed improved many relations in the society. Some even use them as crowns hence have a lot more meaning in their society. These groups will thus need the services of an expert to have them designed in a unique style.

Once you understand this, it is wise to appreciate the fact that you may not be able to learn all the designs at once. As many experts say, it is often easier when you start by practicing with the less complex deigns and patterns. Once these are learned, then you can improve and practice on the more complex ties.

Since some of them are also used in areas such as the desert for pulling the water, it is quite obvious that they are untied regularly. Thus, the need to learn how to tie them back is inevitable.
